Catch up on VNSG SAP BTP Hackathon with Mouade and Ted
In this episode of the HANA Café NL podcast, hosts Twan van den Broek and Jan Penninkhof celebrate their 20th episode of the year by diving into the VNSG SAP BTP Hackathon with guests Ted Castelijns and Mouade Boussaid from Expertum.
🚀 The VNSG SAP BTP Hackathon
The podcast explores a new hackathon format that spans several months rather than the traditional 24-hour "no sleep" sprint. This allows participants to work on real-world business cases alongside their daily jobs. Expertum is currently collaborating with their customer, Ecotone, to solve a practical integration challenge.
The team is building a solution within the SAP Integration Suite to address a common pain point: the ability for functional users to easily "switch off" or undeploy specific groups of interfaces during system upgrades.
The Tech Stack: The solution leverages SAP BTP, Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), and the Integration Suite APIs.
AI Integration: They are investigating how AI can assist in filtering and grouping hundreds of integration flows to make the process less error-prone and more efficient.
The guests shared their main takeaways from the recent SAP TechEd event:
- SAP Build & Rapid-1: Excitement around tabular-based machine learning and its potential for HANA Cloud users.
- Agentic AI: Discussion on the promise of multi-agent systems and the upcoming Joule Studio, envisioning a future where AI "colleagues" collaborate to solve complex tasks.
BTP Maturity: A reflection on how SAP BTP has evolved from its "Neo" days into a mature, solid product that excels in hybrid cloud environments.
The hackathon teams are aiming for a spot at the VNSG SAP Year Event (Sync) on March 12, 2026, where the finalists will present their solutions in a Demo Jam-style pitch on the main stage.
