Paul Baur
IoT for Agribusiness: The Quadcopter Cowboys
Cows, drones, horse riding, IoT, SAP ... what is the connection? Read how an idea for better caring for cattle is realised with sensors, IoT services from SAPHCP and drones in this blog. Agribusiness is an area where innovative use of modern technology is well received.

SAP
SAP IoT Connects the World to Enable Live Business
How serious is SAP about Internet of Things? Well with a 5 year investment plan worth $2 billion, that seems quite serious to me ;-) And with acquiring PLAT.ONE and Fedem Technology, SAP broadens its IoT capabilities.

Oliver Kohl
A New SAP Community Platform And The Road Ahead
October 10 is the big day for the online SAP community, the go-live of the new platform. And yeah - finally a real responsive SCN for best mobile experience. In his honest blog Oliver points out what issues they had to face and what will be in the first release and what will be delivered soon after go-live. Cheers for their openness, see the release notes list on a wiki page.

Alexander von Loeffelholz
Overview of the SITreg (SAP-Inside-Track Registration) community Application
A great community project example - the SAP Inside Track Registration Application. Based on an idea by Gregor a few developers got together and build the application on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform (of course ;-) A tool that simplifies the registration process and that we are using for SAP Inside Track the Netherlands and our UI5 Conference as well. With one tool we can now facilitate registration, gather session proposals, see who's coming, collect email addresses, ... Thanks for that.

SAP TechEd Top 10 (2010)

Here we go, Top 10 SAP TechEd topics 2010. Just like in 2009 and in 2008 . Based on the 417 sessions published on the site I counted the hit ratio on the below listed topics. Not to be taken too seriously, just for fun ;-) (1, 1) SAP NetWeaver (93 sessions) (2, 10) Business Objects (45) (3, 6) ABAP (32) (5, 4) BPM (22) (4, 5) BI (18) (-, -) Sybase (17) (-, -) Mobile (15) (-, -) PI (13) (7, 9) Web Dynpro (12) (7, 10) Enterprise services (8) (-,-) Microsoft (8) Runners up : Sybase and mobile applications. Looking forward to play around with that next week. And as predicted : Microsoft. Droppers , not in the Top 10 anymore: Composition Environment (4 sessions, #8 in 2008, #9 in 2009), Java (4 sessions, #3 in 2008, #8 in 2009) and SOA (4 sessions, #2 in 2008, #6 in 2009). Sybase is no surprise. Just as Business Objects wasn't last year. Java dropped out of the Top 10. Looking back at SAP TechEd 2009 you could predict that to happen. Last year all Java sessions were hidden somewher
